How to Track Stock News Automatically

Updated this week

Timely news is everything when it comes to trading. Whether you're tracking individual stocks, sectors, or macroeconomic events, you need a reliable way to stay updated — without refreshing news sites all day.

With RSS.app, you can build your own automated stock news tracker using Google News and custom filters. You’ll get new headlines delivered directly to your inbox, Discord, Telegram, or dashboard — in real time.

Step 1: Search for a Stock or Topic on Google News

Go to news.google.com and type in the company, ticker symbol, or financial topic you want to follow.

Examples:

  • Tesla stock

  • AAPL earnings

  • semiconductor market trends

  • Fed interest rate decision

Once your results appear, copy the URL from the address bar.

Step 2: Generate an RSS Feed from Your Search

2. Paste in the URL from your Google News search and click Generate.

3. Click Save to My Feeds to save it to your account.

Now you’ve got a live RSS feed of the latest news on that topic or stock.

Step 3: Use Filters to Refine the Headlines

RSS.app lets you filter your feed so you only see the most relevant stories:

  • Whitelist (Include only): Add keywords like analyst upgrade, price target, beats expectations, etc.

  • Blacklist (Exclude): Remove noise with terms like opinion, rumor, or meme.

Step 4: Set Up Alerts to Get Notified Instantly

Get new headlines as soon as they’re published — no need to refresh.

1. Click on the Slack, Discord, or Telegram icon in Feed Overview.

2. Connect your workspace or bot.

3. Set the posting channel and message format.

For more detailed information, check out our guides on adding RSS feeds to Slack, Discord, and Telegram.

Now, when there’s news about the stock you’re tracking, you’ll be the first to know.
