How to add RSS feeds to Yodeck

This guide will show you how to display auto-updating RSS feeds on your digital signage screens using Yodeck.

Step 1: Generate an RSS Feed

If you don’t already have an RSS feed, you can create one using RSS.app.

1. Go to the RSS Generator.

2. Paste the URL of a website, blog, or social media page you want to display.

3. Click Generate.

4. Once your feed is ready, click Save to My Feeds.

Use filters to customize the content that appears in your feed. You can exclude/include posts based on keywords, add custom text, replace text, etc.

5. Copy the generated XML URL at the top of your feed.

This feed will automatically update whenever new content is published on the source according to your plan's refresh rate.

Step 2: Add RSS feed to Yodeck

1. Log in to your Yodeck account and go to Apps in the left sidebar.

2. Change to Discover Apps tab.

3. Find and select Custom RSS.

4. Paste your .xml feed URL.

Step 3: Adjust Refresh Rate

To ensure your screen updates automatically:

  • Set an appropriate refresh rate in Yodeck

  • This controls how often new content is pulled to Yodeck from your RSS.app feed

Step 4: Assign to a Screen

1. Go to Screens in the left sidebar.

2. In Screen Content, Add the Custom RSS app.

3. Publish changes.

Your digital signage will now display automatically updating content from your RSS feed.
