Filtering RSS feeds by keywords allows you to customize the content you receive, ensuring that your feed only includes posts relevant to your interests. In RSS.app, you can use two types of filters: Whitelist and Blacklist. These filters enable you to include or exclude posts based on specific keywords.
Whitelist Filter
The Whitelist filter allows you to include only posts that contain certain keywords. This is useful if you want to focus on content related to specific topics or terms.
1. Go to the Filters tab of your feed.
2. If you want to filter posts that mention either one keyword or another, click +Add and type your second keyword. This uses OR logic, which means you’ll see posts that match any of the keywords.
You add “coffee” and then click +Add to enter “tea”. You’ll see posts that mention either “coffee” or “tea”.
If you want to filter posts that mention both keywords together, click AND instead, then type your second keyword. This uses AND logic, which means you’ll only see posts that contain both keywords in the same post.
You add “coffee” and then click AND to enter “morning”. Now you’ll only see posts that mention both “coffee” and “morning”.
3. Toggle Partial Match on if you want to match any part of the keyword.
4. Select whether you'd like the filter to apply to the Title, Description, Link, or Image URL.
This ensures that only posts containing the specified keywords will be included in your feed.
Blacklist Filter
The Blacklist filter works by excluding posts that contain specific keywords. It is helpful for blocking unwanted content, such as spam or topics you do not want to see.
1. Go to the Filters tab of your feed.
2. If you want to filter posts that mention either one keyword or another, click +Add and type your second keyword. This uses OR logic, which means you’ll see posts that match any of the keywords.

3. Toggle Partial Match on if you want to match any part of the keyword.
4. Select whether you'd like the filter to apply to the Title, Description, Link, or Image URL.
With this filter, you can block posts that contain the unwanted keywords from appearing in your feed.
Using Both Filters Together
You can use both the Whitelist and Blacklist filters simultaneously. This allows you to:
Include posts that match your whitelist keywords.
Exclude posts that contain blacklist keywords.
By using both filters, you can fine-tune your feed to show only the most relevant content.
The number of Whitelist and Blacklist keywords you can use depends on your plan. Check out the Pricing Page for more details.
