Step 1: Choose Your Feed
Begin by selecting the RSS feed or bundle of your choice. This feed will act as the source of updates in your Slack channels.
Step 2: Slack Integration
Navigate to the “Feed Overview” page. Here, locate and click on the Slack button, found on the right side.
Step 3: Authorization and Server Selection
If this is your first time setting up a Slack bot, a modal will appear for authorization. Enter your workspace Slack UTL and click 'Continue'.
Step 4: Grant Necessary Permissions
Ensure the bot has permissions to access workspace and click 'Allow'.
Step 5: Select the Posting Channel
Choose the specific text channel within your Slack workspace where the bot will post updates.
Step 6: Customize Your Feed
Back on the “Feed Overview” page, you have options to modify sources, bundles, and apply filters to tailor the feed to your needs.
Step 7: Settings Overview
Bot settings
Add custom name and avatar for bot.
Private channel:
To send posts to a private channel, you need to add our bot to it.
Open channel details > Integrations > Add an app > Add News Alerts (Our bot) to the channel. Shortly after that, you should be able to choose a private channel.
Card Elements:
Adjust settings for message previews, including color customization.
History and Testing
Check the history to see when and how many updates the bot has sent. Use the 'Send Test' button on the top right of the screen to verify the bot's integration.
