How to Set Up a Discord Bot That Posts News Automatically

Updated this week

As a community manager, keeping your Discord server active with fresh, relevant content is key — but posting manually takes time. With RSS.app, you can set up a simple bot that automatically shares news, blog posts, or updates in any channel — no coding required.

Step 1: Create an RSS Feed

1. Open the RSS Feed Generator.

2. Paste the URL from any source: Google News, Reddit, YouTube, any blog or website.

3. Click Generate.

4. A feed will be generated within 20 seconds. Click Save to My Feeds to save it to your account.

Step 2: Connect to Discord

1. Click on the Discord icon in the right-side menu.

2. Log in with your Discord account and authorize the RSS.app bot to post.

3. Select the Discord server and channel where the bot should post (e.g., #news, #announcements).

4. Customize the message format if needed (e.g., show just the title and link).

5. Click Save — your Discord bot is now live.

New posts from the feed will automatically be shared in the selected channel.

Use filters to post only the most relevant updates. For example, only share articles with “AI” or “announcement” in the title by using our Whitelist filter.
