Learn how to embed widgets with audio into your website

Updated over 2 weeks ago

RSS feeds with audio allow you to automatically display and play podcast episodes on your website, making it easy for visitors to listen without leaving the page.

RSS.app does not generate podcast RSS feeds from webpages or YouTube videos. The podcast hosting platform creates the RSS feed, and RSS.app allows you to display it as a widget.

Understanding Podcast RSS feeds

Most podcast hosting platforms (such as Apple Podcasts or Spotify) automatically generate RSS feeds for published episodes. These feeds contain structured metadata, including:

  • Episode title & description

  • Audio file link (MP3 or other formats)

  • Publication date

  • Podcast cover image

Once you have an RSS feed URL, you can use it to display and play audio directly from your website.

Find your Podcast RSS feed

  1. Log in to your podcast hosting platform.

  2. Locate the RSS feed URL in the settings (often under “Distribution” or “Feed Details”).

  3. Copy the RSS Feed URL provided by the platform.

Upload your Podcast RSS feed into RSS.app

  1. Paste your RSS feed URL into the generator.

  2. Click Generate and wait for your feed to process (this takes about 20 seconds).

  3. Click Save to My Feeds to store your feed.

Customize Your Podcast Widget with Audio

  1. Navigate to Feed Overview > Widgets.

  2. Select a widget type that supports audio (News Wall, List, Carousel).

  3. Click Customize and navigate to Card Settings.

  4. Enable the Audio Player – this allows users to play podcast episodes directly from the widget.

Once customized, you can embed the widget and play podcast episodes directly on your site.
