How to integrate RSS feeds with IFTTT and X (Twitter)

Learn how to automate RSS feed posts to X (formerly Twitter)

Updated this week

IFTTT (If This Then That) is an automation tool that allows you to connect different services and create workflows. By integrating RSS.app with IFTTT, you can automatically post new RSS feed updates to X (formerly Twitter).

Prerequisites

  • An RSS.app account.

  • An IFTTT account.

  • An X (formerly Twitter) account.

  • An RSS feed URL (you can create it here).

Create a new Applet in IFTTT

An Applet links two or more services to automate tasks they couldn’t do on their own.

  1. Log into IFTTT.com

  2. Click Create in the top right of the screen.

  3. Select If This to choose a trigger service.

  4. Search for RSS Feed and select it.

  5. Choose New feed item as the trigger.

  6. Enter your RSS feed URL from RSS.app.

Set up X (formerly Twitter) as the Action

This action is only available with an IFTTT Pro plan.

  1. Click Then That to choose an action service.

  2. Search for X (Formerly Twitter) and select it.

  3. Choose Post a tweet or Post a tweet with image as the action.

  4. Link your Twitter account.

  5. Customize the tweet content by adding feed elements from Add Ingredient.

Activate your automation

  1. Press Continue.

  2. Choose an Applet title.

  3. Click Finish.

Once the action is created, X will be updated as soon as new content is posted in the feed.

You can combine multiple RSS feeds into a single one using our Bundles feature. Simply import this feed into IFTTT, and new posts will be shared automatically whenever the feed updates.
