How to customize the Ticker widget

Learn how to personalize your Ticker Widget

The Ticker Widget is designed to display a continuous stream of news headlines, updates, or announcements in a compact, scrolling format. Customizing it helps ensure it matches your website’s design and functionality needs.

Presets

There are multiple presets available for the Ticker widget to fit different layouts and your aesthetic preferences.

Default – A contemporary look with subtle design accents.

Bright Headline – A vibrant ticker with bold, eye-catching colors.

Black & White – A sleek, modern option with a minimalist monochrome theme.

Headlines – A structured, clean design focusing on text clarity.


Customize Settings

Customization options allow you to tailor the widget to fit your needs. These settings can be adjusted for desktop, tablet, and mobile views.

1. General Settings

Number of Posts – Set the number of headlines to be displayed in the ticker.

Space Elements – Adjust the spacing between headlines for readability.

Speed – Control how fast the ticker scrolls.

Padding Height – Adjust the height of the ticker for better visibility.

Direction – Choose the scroll direction (Right to Left, Left to Right).

Pause on Hover – Enable to pause the ticker when a user hovers over it.

Open Links – Set how links open (New window, Same window, Popup).

Font Family – Choose a font that matches your website's style.

Background Color – Select a background color for the ticker.

Border Radius – Adjust the roundness of the ticker’s edges.

UTM Tags – Enable tracking for analytics.

Nofollow Links – Enable to prevent search engines from following links in the ticker.

2. Card Settings

These expandable sections allow you to fine-tune how individual card elements appear in your Ticker widget.

Title

  • Color - Choose a custom color for the title text using a hex code.

  • Font Size - Adjust the title font size using the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons.

  • Font Height - Customize the line height of the title for better readability.

  • Clip After X Lines - Limit the number of lines displayed in the title before truncating.

Source & Time

  • Enable – Display or hide the article’s source and timestamp.

  • Show Author - Toggle author visibility.

  • Position - Choose where source & time should appear (Right or Left).

  • Color - Choose a custom color for the source & time using a hex code.

  • Date Format - Choose how the date is displayed (e.g., "Time Ago").

  • Time Format – Choose how the time is displayed (e.g., None, 12-hour, 24-hour format).

  • Date Color - Choose a custom color for the source & time using a hex code.

Uppercase Transform – Convert all text to uppercase.

3. Title Settings

These settings allow you to control how the title of your feed (e.g. The New York Times - Breaking News, US News, World News and Videos) appears in your widget.

Show Title – Enable or disable the main title for the ticker.

Title Direction – Adjust title alignment (Left, Right).

Title Style – Choose between Classic or Modern styling.

Font Size & Color – Customize the size and color of the title.

Background Color – Select a custom background for the title section.


Breakpoints

At the top of the screen, you’ll find different icons that allow you to switch between Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile views. By clicking the settings icon, you can also configure breakpoints in pixels for different devices.


Presets within Customize

  • Choose from predefined styles in the Presets dropdown menu.

  • Click Save as New to create and store a preset with your custom settings.

Don't forget to save your settings! The widget will update automatically after you save your changes.
